How to Transfer an EPF Account Online

Switching your job, here is the full procedure of transferring your EPF account. EPFO provides a facility to transfer your EPF account while switching from one job to another.

What is an EPF account?

Employees provident fund is a fund in which a part of your salary is deposited as savings for after retirement life. The amount is deducted from salary and deposited every month. In Employees provident fund account 12% of the employees salary is contributed by both the employer and employee.

Eligibility for EPF transfer

• UAN activated on the EPF portal linked with the registered mobile number.
• All details related to the bank such as account number and IFSC code verified by the employer.
• Aadhar linked to the UAN account
• Mention date of joining and exit
• One ID, one transfer is accepted.

How to transfer EPF Account online

• Go to the official website (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/) Login to EPF account using UAN and Password
• Select One member- One EPF Account
• Verify the details
• Click on Get details
• Enter the previous employer UAN ID
• Click on Get OTP
• Enter the OTP
• Submit to authentify
• Fill the PF transfer request form and submit
• Tracking ID will be generated which can be used to track the process.
• Required documents for the transfer
• You will need to attach Revised Form 13
• An ID Proof such as PAN, Aadhar etc
• UAN ID
• Details of the Current employer
• Salary account details
• Details of PF account

How to track your status online?

From website-

• Go to the official website
• Select knowing your claim status
• Select state of your PF office
• Select regional office
• Enter account number
• Click on submit
• Your status will display on screen

From Portal-

• Go to EPFO portal
• Login using UAN, password and captcha
• Go to online services
• Click track claim status
• Select transfer claim status
• Your status will display on screen
