Income Tax Return 2023: Last Date For Filing ITR, Procedure to File ITR, Check Details

The deadline for filing a tax return for fiscal year 2022-23 is July 31. On April 1, the new ITR forms for fiscal year 2023-24 will be available. Individuals who earn more than the basic exemption limit of Rs 2.5 lakh per year are required to submit ITR before the due date. Individuals earning up to Rs 5 lakh in taxable income, on the other hand, are exempt from paying tax. A tax return can be filed in physical copy at a local Income-tax Department office or online at the official website. For a number of reasons, the government moved the deadline for filing ITRs from July 31 to September 30 last year.
