The Indian government is always looking for ways to strengthen its transport infrastructure. The government has undertaken various ambitious projects to build motorways across the country in order to reduce travel time and increase connectivity.
According to the article, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India has already prepared a road map under which it will work on developing 1.8 lakh km of national highways, which will not only reduce travel time but also reduce travel costs. These projects are scheduled to be finished by 2025.

These new expressways are expected to change the way people travel by making journeys quicker, smoother, and more convenient. Let's take a closer look at some of the most important national highways that are about to be built.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The Delhi-Mumbai Motorway, one of India's most anticipated and ambitious projects, intends to connect the national capital, Delhi, with the financial centre, Mumbai. This motorway, which spans around 1,250 km, will considerably shorten travel time between the two cities. It has been reported that after the fastest route is completed, it will only take 11 to 12 hours to cover the distance between both cities, saving travellers up to 13 to 14 hours on the voyage.
Ganga Expressway
The 94-kilometer-long, six-lane motorway will connect Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Hardoi, Unnao, Pratapgarh, and Raebareli. According to the study, if all goes as planned, it would begin operations for the general public before 2025.
Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway
According to the report, the motorway would be completed in 6 to 7 months. Once it begins operations, travellers would be able to travel from Mumbai to Nagpur in as little as 8 hours. According to reports, the route will traverse around 701 km and will connect more than 8 districts and 388 communities, if not more.
Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway
The project will connect Jammu's Katra with Delhi's Bahadurgarh Border across a distance of 648 kilometres. When the fastest four-lane motorway opens, it will allow the people to go to Amritsar, Nokadar, and Gurdaspur, among other places.
Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway
This four-lane expressway will connect Bengaluru and Chennai, the capital cities of two central southern Indian states. The 260-kilometer route will pass through Karnataka's Hoskote and Bangarpet, Andhra Pradesh's Palamaner and Chittoor, and Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur.
