It is not a herculean task to link Aadhaar card with bank accounts online as well as offline. Citizens can link their respective Aadhaar card to their bank account online via mobile application of bank or through internet banking without any hassle. In order to avail the facility, citizens must be registered with the bank for the service.
You can avail several benefits if you link your bank with Aadhaar. It is a legal KYC (Know Your Customer) document to open bank accounts. Individuals can avail direct credit of welfare funds, scholarship, pensions, MNREGA wages from government. They can also avail direct subsidies from government when their bank account is linked with Aadhaar.
Below are steps that will help you link your Aadhaar card with bank account online and offline:
Method 1: Link Bank Account With Aadhaar Via Internet Banking
- Visit your bank's internet banking account
- Fill your user id and password
- Go to "My Account" and click subsection "Update Aadhaar With Bank Account (CIF)
- Fill profile password for Aadhaar Registration
- New page will open that will ask you to fill your Aadhaar number twice
- Click "Submit" button after filling your Aadhaar number
- You will receive a message confirming successful linking of Aadhaar with bank
Method 2: Linking Bank Account With Aadhaar Via Mobile App Of Bank
- Visit your respective bank's mobile application
- Under "My Accounts" go to "Services" tab and then click option "View/Update Aadhaar Card Details"
- Fill your Aadhaar number 2 times and click "Submit" button
- You will receive a message confirming successful linking of your Aadhaar with bank account
If you desire to link your Aadhaar card with bank offline, you need to visit your respective bank's branch or nearby ATM
Method 1: Visit Branch
- Link Bank Account With Aadhaar At Nearby ATM
- Swipe your bank's ATM card and fill your PIN
- Go to Services Menu and select Registrations option
- Select "Aadhaar Registration" option
- Select type of account (savings or current) and fill your 12-digit Aadhaar number
- Enter Aadhaar number once again and click OK button
- You will receive a message confirming successful linking of your Aadhaar Card with bank account
Method 2: Visit your bank's branch
- You must fill Aadhaar application form when you visit your bank's branch
- Specify your bank account details and Aadhaar number clearly
- Deposit the form and Aadhaar copy at the bank's counter. You may be asked to show the original copy of your Aadhaar card, so you must keep it handy
- Soon after your applicated is accepted by your bank, you may receive a message on your mobile after successful linking of your Aadhaar with bank account
