PM Kisan Beneficiaries Should Complete e-KYC To Get Next installment, Check How To Do EKYC

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), a Central Sector Scheme, aims at providing financial assistance to all cultivable landholding farmer families across the country, subject to certain exclusion criteria. Under the Scheme, an amount of Rs. 6000/- is transferred annually in three equal installments of Rs.2000/- directly into the Aadhaar Seeded bank accounts of the farmers.

PM Kisan's next installment is expected to be released between February and March 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 15th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, on November 15, 2023.

e-KYC

However, PM Kisan beneficiaries may not receive the next installment of the PM-Kisan if the e-KYC is not completed.
The PM Kisan website says, "eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN Registered Farmers. OTP-based eKYC is available on the PMKISAN Portal or nearest CSC centres may be contacted for Biometric based eKYC."

eKYC is required to ensure the benefit of the PM Kisan scheme reaches to the intended beneficiaries in their Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.

According to the Economic Times report citing the Agriculture Rajasthan website, E-KYC of 39580 farmers of the district is yet to be done, Aadhaar linking of 11566 farmers and land verification of 24007 farmers is still left. If this is not done, farmers will not get the benefit of the next installment.

If the pm Kisan beneficiaries fail to get the e-KYC done by January 31, they may become ineligible to receive the next installment of Rs 2000 in their bank account.

The three different methods, available to PM Kisan beneficiaries under the PMKISAN scheme include:

(i) OTP Based e-KYC (available on PM-KISAN Portal and Mobile App)
