PM Kisan is a central government initiative that provides qualifying farmers with financial assistance from the Government of India. All land-owning farmer households would get annual income assistance of Rs. 6,000 in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 every four months under the plan. This monetary benefit will be directly credited into the beneficiaries' bank accounts.
The family must consist only of a husband, wife, and minor children, and the farmer families' eligibility is determined by the State Government and the UT administration. In order to get monetary benefits, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has made eKYC mandatory for PM Kisan registered farmers.
On the PMKisan website, the department has mentioned "eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN Registered Farmers. Pls. click eKYC option in Farmer Corner for Aadhar based OTP authentication and for Biometric authentication contact nearest CSC centres. There may be Time Out & Delay in response while verifying OTP due to intermittent issue in OTP services of UIDAI as per notification received from UIDAI."
The release of the 10th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) Yojana was made on 1st January 2022 and the next installment is yet to come, in order to receive the benefits the farmer families are mandatory to update their KYC details in case it is pending.
Steps to update eKYC
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in and click on 'eKYC' under the 'Farmers Corner' section available on the right side of the page.
- Now on the 'Aadhar OTP Ekyc' page enter your Aadhaar number and click on 'Search'.
- Now enter your Aadhaar linked mobile number and you will get an OTP on the entered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and your KYC will be updated successfully.
Steps to register for PMKisan scheme
All small landholding households with a husband, wife, and minor child are eligible to apply for the scheme, and the steps for the same are outlined below.
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in and click on 'New Farmer Registration' under the 'Farmers Corner' section available on the right side of the page.
- Fill out the 'New Farmer Registration Form' with all the required details.
- You can select your preferred language in order to fill the form online.
- Now you will be required to enter your Aadhaar Number which will be authenticated with UIDAI. Only once your Aadhar is validated you can proceed further.
- Now enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and you will get an OTP on your entered mobile number by clicking on 'Send OTP'.
- Enter the OTP, verify the same and your registration would be completed successfully.
Steps to check PMKisan beneficiary list online
All farming families that own agricultural land in their names are eligible for income assistance of Rs 6,000 per year under the PM KISAN plan. The 6000 rupees are paid in three equal installments of Rs 2000 each from April to July, August to November, and December to March. A farmer can utilise this service to verify the status of his or her application after applying for fresh registration for the scheme.
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in and click on 'Beneficiary List' under the 'Farmers Corner' section available on the right side of the page.
- Now select your state, district, sub-district, block and village, and then click on 'Get Report'.
- After you've entered all of the required details, you'll see a beneficiary list on your device's screen, where you can double-check your name.
Steps to check PMKisan beneficiary status online
The beneficiary status must be checked since the monetary amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in and click on 'Beneficiary Status' under the 'Farmers Corner' section available on the right side of the page.
- Now enter your registered Aadhaar number or bank account number and click on 'Get Data'.
- You'll get the records, which will include a list with the farmer's name and the amount credited to his or her registered bank account.
Note
The PMKisan plan successfully completed three years of operation on February 24th. According to a tweet of PIB "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme completes 3 years. Under the #PMKISAN scheme, a financial benefit of Rs. 6000/- per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families."
Beneficiaries of higher economic standing are not eligible for benefit under the plan and the list of scheme exclusion is listed below, according to the website of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi.
1. All Institutional Landholders.
2. Farmer families which belong to one or more of the following categories:
i) Former and present holders of contractual posts.
ii) Former and present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of LokSabha/ RajyaSabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
iii) All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff /Class IV/Group D employees).
iv) All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) of above category.
v) All Persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year.
vi) Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.
