PM-KISAN Yojana 2026: Check Eligibility, Online Registration Process To Receive Rs 6,000
India has long been recognised as an agrarian economy, with agriculture playing a crucial role in the country's GDP and providing livelihoods to millions of people. Despite its importance, many farmers continue to face financial difficulties due to rising cultivation costs, unpredictable weather patterns, and fluctuations in market prices. To address these challenges and provide direct financial support to farmers, the Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana.

Introduced on February 24, 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme is a central government welfare programme that provides eligible farmer families with financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year. Recently, the government released the 22nd instalment of the scheme, disbursing Rs 18,640 crore directly to more than 9.32 crore farmer families across the country. The initiative continues to serve as a significant source of financial support for small and marginal farmers.
Let's take a closer look at the key features, eligibility criteria, and registration process of the PM-KISAN scheme.
Features Of PM-KISAN Yojana
Direct Financial Assistance
Eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually, which is credited directly to their bank accounts in three equal instalments through the DBT system.
Nationwide Coverage
The scheme is implemented across all states and Union Territories of India. Farmers residing in both rural and urban areas can avail of the benefits, provided they meet the eligibility conditions.
