Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)- FM Announced PMKVY 4.0 to be Launched Within the Next 3 Years
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the fiscal year 2023-24 budget. In the budget, the Finance Minister made a number of significant announcements in the field of education. Aside from that, there was a strong emphasis on skill development. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0, she said, would be launched within the next 3 years.
What is Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana?
The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) flagship scheme, which is managed by the National Skill Development Corporation. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will be evaluated and certified through the Recognized Prior Learning programme as well (RPL).
Objective
Its goal is to provide industry-relevant skill training to Indian youth in order to secure a better livelihood. The cost of training is borne by the government. Following successful completion of the assessment, you will be assigned a job
Key highlight of the announcement of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal vikas Yojana 4.0-
- Within the next three years, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 will be launched to train lakhs of youth.
- On-the-job training, industry partnerships, and course alignment with industry needs will be emphasised.
- The scheme will also include new Industry 4.0 courses such as coding, AI, robotics, mechatronics, IOT, 3D printing, drones, and soft skills.
- Thirty Skill India International Centres will be established across various states to prepare youth for international opportunities.
