Quick Tips To Maintain Secrecy Of Your ATM PIN
We use the four-digit PIN numbers to operate and swipe debit and credit card. It is of paramount importance to keep it safe and one should never share it with any including the family members. It is significant to maintain your PIN safely and in a secure manner. The debit card pin is also used as the ATM pin which you frequently use for withdrawing cash from the dispensing machines.
PIN or Personal Identification Number can be described as the security code for confirming your identity. It is just like a password or an OTP that you receive on your smartphone for making online transactions. PIN is ideally a 4-digit password and it is highly significant to re-set PIN number once a month at least.
Below are some quick tips to maintain secrecy of your SBI ATM PIN:
- Stay vigilant when you enter PIN number: You are supposed to enter PIN number at various public places that may include several ATMs, malls, and shops. It is crucial to maintain secrecy of your PIN. Whenever you enter the PIN number at any public place, you may cover the keypad with your palm so that no one can view the PIN number. Criminal elements may use hidden cameras at ATMs or other places for recording your PIN number.
- Always ensure to never use such PIN that can be easily guessed that may be either your telephone number, birthday date, or anniversary date.
- Never write your PIN number on the card or anywhere else to make it handy as it may prove to be a costly mistake in the longer run.
- Never give your debit card to anyone and disclose your PIN number as it is something like giving someone a blank signed cheque.
- Always avoid seeking help from any stranger in the ATM room in case your debit card causes issue or ATM machine fails to dispense cash.
- Never allow any other person to enter the ATM Room while you are transacting and at the same time make sure you wait outside the ATM Room while someone else is inside the ATM Room
- Always keep a note of your card number and associated account number as they will be required for blocking your card in case you lose your card.
