SBI Debit Cards- How to Enable Contactless Debit Cards Through SMS, NetBanking and Mobile Banking?

SBI contactless debit cards can be used to make in-store purchases, online payments, and cash withdrawals in India and around the world. A debit card holder does not need to enter his or her card PIN number when paying with a PoS terminal at a store, restaurant, or other location under this system. It can also make online payments and withdraw cash from ATMs all over India and the world. Here is how you can enable sbi contactless debit cards.

How does SBI contactless debit card work?

A customer can make electronic payments by waving a contactless card near a PoS terminal without dipping or swiping the card. This ensures that the debit card is always in the customer's possession.
If the NFC enabled Card is used at an NFC terminal for a transaction up to Rs 5000, no PIN is required. According to the State Bank of India's website, such contactless transactions without PIN are limited to five per day. This feature is available on the SBI global international debit card's RuPay, MasterCard, and VISA variants.

How to activate contactless debit cards via SMS?

Customers with SBI Global International Debit Cards can activate contactless transactions by texting SWON NFC CCCCC to 09223966666 from their registered mobile numbers. To turn it off, send an SMS to the same number with the text SWOFF NFC CCCCC. CCCCC is the last five digits of your debit card number in this case.

How to enable contactless debit cards using net banking?

Step 1: Sign in to https://www.onlinesbi.com using your User ID and Password.

Step 2: Go to Menu - E-Services - ATM Card Services - Change ATM Card Limit/Channel/Usage.

Step 3: Choose Account Number, Card Number, and Services.

Step 4: Modify the Usage Type - NFC Usage

Step 5: Click Enable and then click Submit.

How to activate contactless debit card via YONO SBI mobile app?

Step 1: Open the App

Step-2: Log in using your User ID and password (or PIN).

Step 3: Navigate to Menu - Services - Manage NFC.

Step 4: Choose Debit Card - Enter Card Number

Step 5: Enable / Disable NFC ON - OFF

Step 6: Choose and submit NFC
