The State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced an interoperable cardless cash withdrawal (ICCW) capability, allowing any bank customer in India to use its YONO mobile application to access the UPI payment system and request money.
According to a press release from SBI on July 2, each bank user would have access to UPI capabilities including Scan and Pay, Pay by contacts, and Request money, among others, with the help of the "YONO for Every Indian" initiative. This significant update strengthens SBI's dedication to offering comprehensive and customer-focused digital banking services to every Indian citizen, the company stated in the announcement.

The 'UPI QR Cash' technology now allows customers to withdraw money from any bank's ICCW-enabled ATMs without any hassle. Without needing a PIN or a physical debit card, the transaction will be processed through a single-use dynamic QR code that will be shown on the ATM screen.
Dinesh Khara, the chairman of SBI, unveiled on Saturday 34 transaction banking hubs across the nation's top 21 district centres, offering complete solutions for all transaction, payment, and collection needs under one roof.
SBI Chairman, Dinesh Khara said, "The YONO app has been revamped, keeping in mind the expectations of our customers for a seamless and pleasant digital experience. This will further fulfil our goal of making the 'YONO for Every Indian' mission a reality,"
While the service streamlines the cash withdrawal procedure and offers increased consumer security by doing away with the need to physically handle a debit card or enter a PIN, it also reduces the dangers of shoulder surfing and card cloning. Through a convenient and secure digital channel, customers can benefit from rapid cash withdrawal, which makes banking easier for them. SBI has been actively strengthening its digital platforms, according to the press release, as part of the bank's commitment to offering cutting-edge and customer-centric solutions.
