SBI Launches Free Service To File ITR: How To Avail It?

The country's largest public-run lender State Bank of India (SBI) is offering a service using which taxpayers can file their ITR for free via its Yono app. This can come as a help as the due date or deadline to file the income tax return for FY 2019-20 or Assessment year 2020-21 ends on December 31, 2020.

So, an SBI customer who hasn't filed ITR until now can use this service to file ITR for free. In its tweet SBI said, "File your Income Tax Return with Tax2win on YONO for free."

And if you wish to file the ITR taking assistance of a Chartered Accountant be ready to pay a sum of at least Rs. 199.

To avail SBI's free service to file ITR, SBI customers can follow the below steps:

-Log in to the YONO app on your mobile phone.
-Proceed to shop 'Shop and Order' and click on 'tax and investment'.
- Now when you come across Tax2Win, click on for further details. For CA assisted tax filing, you would need to pay a minimum of Rs. 199.
- And if you face any difficulty in availing the facility, do call for help on [phone] or write an e-mail to [email protected].

Alternatively, you can file your taxes by logging into your e-filing account on the department's e-filing portal. Here for logging in into your account, you would need to give basic inputs such as PAN, ID, password, date of birth and Captcha.
