Skip Toll Plaza Queues! Here's How to Buy a Local Pass Digitally via the RajmargYatra App
Inter-state commuters who have to purchase a toll pass for their daily travel can now ditch the queue at toll plazas and purchase one online. Under the new digital framework, commuters can visit the toll plaza physically and submit supporting documents for a toll pass.
The state-owned National Highway Authority of India recently issued fresh guidelines allowing purchase of a local pass digitally through he RajmargYatra Mobile App. The local pass would allow unlimited travel thorough the respective toll plaza during the month.

How To Purchase Toll Pass Online?
While it is not mandatory for commuters to physically visit the toll plaza, they must apply for their toll pass within a 20-kilometre radius. Within the area range, they can purchase a local pass through the RajmargYatra Mobile Application.
Earlier, commuters were required physically visit the toll plaza and submit supporting documents. Now they can download and install the RajmargYatra Mobile app and apply for a local toll pass.
How to Use the RajmargYatra Mobile App Local Pass Feature?
-Visit the Playstore app.
-Download the RajmargYatra Mobile application, and install it.
-Log in.
-Navigate the home page, and opt for the 'Local Pass' feature, make sure that you are within the 20 km range of the toll plaza.
-Enter the required details, make the payment to purchase the toll plaza.
NHAI, in a statement, said the newly introduced 'local pass' feature enables eligible commuters to purchase a toll pass digitally through the Rajmargyatra Mobile App without visiting the toll plaza.The first facility of digital local toll pass has been introduced at the Mundka - Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi and will be rolled out at other toll plazas across the country in the coming months, it added.
The initiative lets people to purchase local toll pass easily and leverages consent-based integration with government digital platforms, including DigiLocker and VAHAN, to automatically retrieve verified details relating to the commuter's address, vehicle number and linked FASTag.
Eligibility
The eligibility will be established through GIS-based verification, eliminating manual documentation and significantly improving user convenience while ensuring transparency and accuracy. Further enhancing services for National Highway users, NHAI said it has also introduced 'MargMitra' Help Centre, an intelligent digital assistance platform integrated within the RajmargYatra Mobile App.
