With the threat of COVID-19 still looming, last week, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched 'Union Budget Mobile App' at the Halwa Ceremony, an event that generally marks the start of the printing of Budget papers. Due to the pandemic-related protocol, the voluminous budget documents will not be printed this year.

The Union Budget 2021 papers will be accessible by the members of Parliament (MP) on their mobile phones over the app.
Unlike the past, the voluminous budget documents will not be printed this year following the COVID-19 protocol and will instead be distributed electronically to the MPs. These documents will also be made available for the general public as usual as well as over the app.
Where to download the app?
The Union Budget 2021 app can be downloaded from the Finance Ministry's official website for the annual budget: https://www.indiabudget.gov.in/.
You will be able to find a blinking option that reads "Download Mobile App" on the website.
Apps are available for the android as well as iOS platform.

Features of the Union Budget app
The mobile app users will be able to access 14 Union Budget documents, which will include the Annual Financial Statement (commonly known as Budget), Demand for Grants (DG), Finance Bill etc. as prescribed by the Constitution.
The app is bilingual and it provides you with the convenience of reading the documents in English and Hindi.
There are also features like search, zoom in and out, bidirectional scrolling, table of contents and external links etc. For your convenience, you can also print the documents.
The Budget documents will be available on the Mobile App or the official website, only after the completion of the Budget Speech by the Finance Minister in Parliament on 1 February 2021.
