A unified payment interface (UPI) is a single platform for making or requesting payments from various bank accounts. It is an instant money transfer service that allows users to conduct transactions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Previously, this service was only available to smartphones with an internet connection. The RBI, in collaboration with NPCI, launched UPI 123Pay, which will allow customers to conduct digital transactions without the need for an internet connection. It is designed specifically for feature phone users.

UPI 123Pay is a suite of solutions designed to allow non-smartphone/feature phone users to use UPI without an internet connection.

No, you do not need a smartphone to make a UPI payment with UPI 123PAY.
Is UPI Pin Needed for UPI 123PAY?
You must create a 4-6 digit UPI PIN when you register your account with UPI 123PAY.
Every time a customer conducts a transaction, he must enter his UPI PIN.
How to authorize a UPI 123Pay transaction using the UPI PIN?
The UPI PIN is a 4-6 digit pass code that is generated/set when you first register with the Mobile App/IVR/other channel. You must enter this UPI-PIN to authorise all bank transactions. (Note: The MPIN issued by banks differs from the UPI UPI-PIN.) Please do not reveal your UPI-PIN to anyone.

1. Dial the IVR number.
2. Choose a language.
3. Select to register your bank account.
4. Enter their debit card information.
5. Enter their UPI PIN.
How to Change or reset UPI PIN using a feature phone?
Steps to change or reset UPI PIN for UPI 123PAY-
1. Dial the IVR number.
2. Go to settings (Manage your account)
3. Select the registered mobile number.
4. Enter your current UPI PIN twice, followed by your new UPI PIN.
5. UPI Pin is now successfully changed.

The transaction limit per transaction is INR 5000.
