*99# service has brought banking services to every citizens living in any corner of the country. The USSD-based NPCI was first launched in 2012 later NPCI launched UPI with member banks on August 25, 2016. The service is provided by 83 renowned banks and top four telecom service provider.
The service allows account holders across banks to send and receive money using a unique id known as UPI id or payment address sans internet connection.

3. Steps to do UPI transaction without internet
To register dial *99# on your mobile phone from your registered mobile number.
You will get a pop-up to select your bank. Once bank is selected, you must select your bank account from the list
Now to create your UPI Pin, enter the last six digit of your debit card
Now enter the expiry date of your debit card
Now enter or confirm your four digit or six-digit UPI Pin. Your UPI Pin is now set.
After UPI Pin is set, you can dial *99# again and see all actions you can now do.
You can dial *99# on your phone and enter 1 to send money without internet connectivity
You can send money either by your bank account number, UPI ID, and IFSC Code
If you choose UPI option, enter beneficiary's UPI ID. In case of bank account number, enter IFSC code and bank account number of recipient. In case of mobile number, enter mobile number of the recipient you wish to send money
Last step is to enter UPI Pin number and choose send to complete transaction. Once money is received by recipient, you will receive a confirmation
