What are the Various social Schemes and Programmes run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh?

As we all know both state and central governments work very hard for the betterment of their people. The government of uttar pradesh has launched various schemes for the better future of the people of uttar pradesh. Old age pension scheme-

Old age pension scheme is launched for the welfare of senior citizens. Under this scheme people who are 60 years or above are given pensions up to Rs 500 per month or quarterly basis.

Eligibility-

  • Old age people who are 60 years or above.
  • Earnings in rural area up to Rs 46080
  • Earnings in urban areas up to Rs 56460

National family benefit scheme

This scheme is launched to provide assistance to the dependents of the person who is the only income source of a BPL family in case the person dies. An amount of Rs. 30000 is provided to the dependents. The age of the breadwinner should be between 18-60 years. Candidates can apply online at http://nfbs.upsdc.gov.in/.

Pre-matric and Post-matric scholarships-

Scholarship for both pre-matric and post-matric students for assisting their further studies.

Eligibility-

pre-matric scholarship scheme-

  • Any Scheduled Castes or General Category
  • Must be in class 9th and 10th
  • Family income must be up to 2,50,000

Post matric scholarship scheme-

  • Any Scheduled Castes or General Category
  • Family income for scheduled castes upto 2,50,000 and for general class up to Rs 2,00,000.

Government schemes

Operation of ashram government schools

Under this scheme there are 94 government ashram schools in UP which are working for providing free boarding education with study material, uniform etc for poor students of scheduled caste / scheduled tribes.

Eligibility-

  • Poor and talented students
  • Who Belong to scheduled castes/ scheduled tribes
  • Seats are reserved 60% for scheduled/ scheduled tribes, 25% for backward class and 15% for general.

Uttar pradesh parents and senior citizens feeding and operation of old age homes

This government scheme is introduced for the well being of senior citizens. In this scheme facilities of free food, accommodation, clothes, entertainment, medicines etc in old age homes. Senior citizens who don't have accommodation and are recommended by DM, SDM, MLA, Police etc are allowed to live in these old age homes.

Mukhya mantri samuhik vivah yojana

This scheme was introduced to encourage social peace. It is a scheme in which a mass wedding is organised with all the rituals according to the religion.

Eligibility-

  • Families having annual income up to Rs 2,00,000
  • Marriage of women who are divorced, widows or abandoned
  • The amount of this scheme i.e Rs 35000 is deposited directly in the bank account of the bride.

Grant scheme of marriage of daughters of poor people

This scheme provides marriage grants to the parents whose annual family income comes under the poverty line. The grant amount is Rs 20000 which is directly transferred to the bank account.
Eligibility-

  • Age criteria for bride and groom is 18 and 21
  • Parents' income should lie below the poverty line.

Free Boring scheme

This scheme is launched for farmers to provide free boring facility in their fields.it provides financial assistance of Rs 10000 per boring to scheduled caste farmers below poverty line.
