International Gold Rate Today
The strength in domestic gold price today came as international gold rates remained firm as relatively stable US consumer inflation reduced pressure on the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates in the near-term.
International gold rate today stood at $4,400 per ounce on Thursday as it hovered near ten-week high mark, as per Trading Economics data. US consumer inflation data has reduced the expectations of a interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve in the near-term. The consumer data released on Wednesday, showcased that the US consumer inflation stood at 3.4% in July for a second consecutive month. The consumer inflation surged close to just 0.1% from the previous month. Meanwhile, consumer inflation rate accelerated to 4.45% in July, led by higher food prices.
All eyes are now on producer inflation data, which is scheduled to be released in the coming days. Markets now see around 40% chance of a 25 basis point rate hike from the Fed in September. The recent stability in the crude oil prices also impacted the gold trajectory across markets.
