Crazy Crash In Gold Rates Today (July 19): Gold Rate Falls Rs 41,400 In Chennai, Drops Rs 36,500 In Hyderabad

Gold rates in India are in a cyclonic crash over the past few days and the trend has only intensified on June 19, 2026. Gold across all cities have fallen but the worst to take the hit is gold prices in Chennai which has nosedived by a steep Rs 41,400 in 100 grams of 24 carat. Meanwhile, gold price in Hyderabad has plunged by at least Rs 36,500. The reason is the strengthening dollar, hawkish remarks and fear of rate hikes later in 2026, has outweighed the positive sentiment of US-Iran peace agreement.

Gold Rates In Chennai:

24 carat gold price dropped by Rs 41,400 in 100 grams to Rs 14,80,400 and 10 grams gold plunged by Rs 4,410 to Rs 1,48,040. Meanwhile, 22 carat gold price declined by Rs 38,000 to Rs 13,57,000 per 100 grams and nosedived by Rs 3,800 to Rs 1,35,700 per 10 grams. Also, 18 carat gold price crashed by RS 31,000 to Rs 11,35,000 per 100 grams and dropped by Rs 3,100 to Rs 1,13,500 per 10 grams.

8 grams gold here slipped by Rs 3,312 to Rs 1,18,432 in 24 carat, dropped by Rs 3,040 to Rs 1,08,560 in 22 carat, and declined by Rs 2,480 to Rs 90,800 in 18 carat.

Furthermore, 1 gram gold is down by Rs 414 to Rs 14,804 in 24 carat, dipped by Rs 380 to Rs 13,570 in 22 carat and lowered by Rs 310 to Rs 11,350 in 18 carat.

Gold Rates In Hyderabad:

Furthermore, 24 carat gold plunged by Rs 36,500 to Rs 14,58,600 per 100 grams and collapsed by Rs 3,650 to Rs 1,45,860 per 10 grams. Also, 22 carat gold price tumbled by Rs 33,500 to Rs 13,37,000 per 100 grams and slipped by Rs 3,350 to Rs 1,33,700 per 10 grams. Additionally, 18 carat gold price dropped by Rs 27,400 to Rs 10,93,900 per 100 grams and plunged by Rs 2,740 to Rs 1,09,390 per 10 grams.

Also, 24 carat gold is down by Rs 2,920 to Rs 1,16,688 per 8 grams, while the same gram tumbled by Rs 2,680 to Rs 1,06,960 in 22 carat. Lastly, 8 grams gold is down by Rs 2,192 to Rs 87,512 in 18 carat.

The lowest 1 gram gold is at Rs 14,568 in 24 carat, at Rs 13,370 in 22 carat and at Rs 10,939 in 18 carat. Prices are down by Rs 274 to Rs 365.

What Is Impacting Gold Rates Today?

Explaining in detail, Gaurav Garg, research analyst at Lemonn markets desk, said, gold and silver prices faced downward pressure, with gold trading at approximately ₹1,26,161 per 10 grams and $4,154.30 per ounce, down 1.65%, while silver fell to ₹1,93,009 per kg and $63.55 per ounce, declining by 4.08%.

He added that the easing of geopolitical tensions and a stronger U.S. dollar have contributed to this decline, as investors shifted focus towards equities, leading to a slight recovery in U.S. stock markets. Additionally, crude oil prices also saw a slight drop, with WTI trading at $75.97 per barrel, or ₹7,176, down 0.82%, as concerns over supply disruptions eased.
