Drop in MCX Gold, Silver Rates Today Continue Ahead of Karwa Chauth; Check Latest Retail Gold Prices on 27 Oct

Gold rates today traded marginally lower on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Tuesday, October 27, as investors weighed changing crude oil prices, geopolitical developments and expectations ahead of the US Federal Reserve's policy decision. While gold has found some support from bargain-hunting after recently hitting a more than three-month low, uncertainty over inflation and interest rates continues to influence the precious metals market.

The movement comes at a crucial time for Indian consumers, with Karwa Chauth just two days away and Dhanteras and Diwali approaching. With festive jewellery purchases and gold buying likely to remain on consumers' radar, the difference between domestic futures prices and retail rates is important to watch. MCX Gold Rate Today: Check Gold Futures Latest Prices

MCX gold futures for delivery on December 4, 2026, were trading at Rs 1,43,024 per 10 grams at 10:12 am IST on Tuesday. The contract was down Rs 49, or 0.03%, from its previous close of Rs 1,43,073.

The contract opened at Rs 1,42,581, indicating that prices moved higher from the opening level before settling near the previous close in early trade. The relatively small decline suggests that gold was consolidating after recent weakness rather than witnessing a sharp sell-off.

Internationally, gold prices hovered around $4,010 an ounce on Tuesday after recently touching a more than three-month low. Bargain-hunting by investors seeking to take advantage of lower prices has offered some support, although uncertainty surrounding the Fed's policy outlook has limited the recovery.

Gold Price Outlook: Fed's Inflation Stance May Keep Yellow Metal Under Pressure

"Gold has slipped below $4,000, nearing a three-month low of $3,975. While markets expect the Fed to hold rates steady on Wednesday, they are pricing in roughly a three-in-four chance of a rate hike in December. Therefore, the tone of the Fed's statement will matter more than the decision itself. A firm stance on inflation could keep gold under pressure," said Daniel Munday, Principal Analyst, VT Markets.
