Gold Rate Falls Today, Sep 21: How Much Do 24K, 22K, 18K Gold Cost in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad?

Gold prices dropped slightly today bringing a little relief for buyers, as rates have declined today after two consecutive jumps seen last week in major southern cities like Chennai and Bangalore & Hyderabad.

The current dip in gold prices is due to low demand from local buyers and investors due to rise in prices which has eased the gold rate in India today.

Last week ,the 24-carat gold price jumped by 30000 per 100 grams. However, now that the prices have corrected slightly, people who are interested in gold can make the purchases as gold prices are currently Rs. 23,170 per 10 grams down from the record high level that they touched in January 2026.

Gold Rate in Chennai & Hyderabad Today

As of September 21, the 24-carat gold rate in Chennai & Hyderabad fell once again by Rs.160 per 10 grams to cost Rs. 1,55,680 per 10 grams. While the 22-carat gold prices in Chennai & Hyderabad today dropped by Rs. 150 and currently cost Rs. 1,42,700 per 10 grams. Even the 18-carat gold rate today declined by Rs. 150 per 10 grams to cost Rs. 1,20,400.

Gold Rate in Bangalore today

The 24-carat gold prices in Bangalore declined by Rs. 160, bringing the rate down to Rs. 1,55,680 per 10 grams. Similarly, the price of 22-carat gold in Bangalore fell by Rs. 150 and now stands at Rs. 1,42,700 per 10 grams. Even 18-carat gold saw a decline of Rs. 120, with the latest rate at Rs. Rs.1,16,760 per 10 grams.

MCX Gold and Silver Futures Update

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures maturing on October 5th are currently lower by 0.70% at Rs.1,53,296. Similarly, silver futures, which are set to expire on December 4th, 2026, also slipped by 0.79% and are trading at Rs. 2,39,555 at the time of writing on 21 September.

As per the ICICI Commodity Report, "MCX Gold October is expected to rise towards Rs. 156,500 as long as it stays above Rs. 152,000 level. A move above Rs. 156,500 would rise towards Rs. 158,000. MCX Silver December is expected to rise towards Rs. 245,000- Rs. 246,000 levels as long as it trades above Rs. 238,000."

Silver Rate in Chennai & Hyderabad

Silver prices in both Chennai & Hyderabad reported no major movement. Currently, 1 kg of silver in Chennai & Hyderabad costs Rs. 2,60,000. While 100 g of silver cost Rs. 26,000.

Silver Rate in Bangalore Today

Despite the stability in Chennai & Hyderabad, the Silver rate in Bangalore today slipped by Rs. 5000 per kg. At present, 1 kg of silver in Bangalore costs Rs. 2,50,000. While 100 g of silver rates in Bangalore cost Rs 25,000.

Spot Gold Prices + Spot Silver Price Today

As per Trading Economics, Spot gold was trading at $4353.40per ounce down by 0.69% at the time of writing and Spot silver was down 0.36% to $65.9 per ounce.
