What's behind the Surge in Gold Rate Today?

"Gold and silver ticked higher, supported by a softer dollar as traders awaited key U.S. inflation data likely to influence the Fed's rate path. Fiscal concerns continue to weigh on confidence in U.S. government debt, adding a floor under gold.

Geopolitical risk stayed elevated after Iran vowed to resist the U.S. naval blockade and threatened retaliation for continued strikes, while Trump suggested the conflict could persist past the November midterms. Said Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of IBJA and Chairman at Jain International Trade Organisation.

"With PPI due Thursday and CPI Friday, a hot print could pressure gold further, while a soft reading could open room toward 4,400 dollars. Gold looks set to trade in a 4,300 dollar, approximately 150,000 rupees, to 4,500 dollar, approximately 157,000 rupees, band, favouring a buy-the-dip and sell-the-rally approach for now. Silver has more room to run. A hold above 67 dollars, approximately 243,000 rupees, opens the path toward 70 dollars, approximately 247,000 rupees," he further added.
