Gold Rate Today Sees Fresh Rise in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore & More; 22K, 24K & 18K Gold Prices City-wise

Gold Rate Today: Gold prices started the new week on a positive note, supported by renewed global uncertainty and a rise in safe-haven demand. On Monday, July 20, 2026, the price of 24 Karat gold increased by Rs 17 to Rs 14,346 per gram, while 22 Karat gold climbed Rs 15 to Rs 13,150 per gram, according to the latest market rates.

Silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 235 per gram and Rs 2,35,000 per kilogram. Precious metals found support after escalating tensions in the Middle East pushed crude oil prices higher, raising concerns over global inflation. At the same time, fresh comments from a U.S. Federal Reserve policymaker indicating that further interest rate hikes may still be needed added to market uncertainty.

Higher crude oil prices tend to fuel inflation, while expectations of elevated interest rates for a longer period influence investor sentiment across global financial markets. Although gold is widely considered a hedge against inflation, higher interest rates can limit its upside as they increase the opportunity cost of holding non-interest-bearing assets such as gold.
