Gold rates in India witnessed a mixed trend on June 4, 2026. Physical gold rates dropped across 24 carats, 22 carat and 18 carats due to a hawkish macro scenario that has triggered expectations of rate hikes from global central banks. On the other hand, MCX gold price rose, tracking the uptrend in international COMEX bullion as Israel agreed for a temporary ceasefire with Lebanon, improving risk sentiments. The development in Middle East continues to be monitored. That being said, gold prices across major Indian jewelers also faced up-and-down movement. Though, the prices of bullion vary from jeweler to jeweler.

On June 6th, the 999 purity gold at IBJA stood at Rs 15,558 per 1 gram, followed by the 995 purity gold rate at Rs 15,496 and the 916 purity gold price at Rs 14,251 per 1 gram. Also, the 750 purity gold price is at Rs 11,669 and the 585 purity gold stood at Rs 9,102 per 1 gram.

Tanishq Gold Rates Today

22 carat gold price stood at Rs 14,355 per 1 gram, lower from the previous day. Meanwhile, 22 carat gold rate is at Rs 114,840 per 8 grams, at Rs 143,550 per 10 grams, and at Rs 1,435,500 per 100 grams.

What Is Impacting Gold Prices In India?

As per Carsten Menke, Head Next Generation Research, Julius Baer, Gold has become the number one asset in central banks reserves, thanks to a relentless rise in prices and continued buying from emerging market central banks. While gold's share is now exceeding that of US Treasuries, the US dollar still has the largest share of currency reserves. Importantly, this should not be mistaken as broad-based dedollarisation. We still see central-bank buying as the strongest structural force in the gold market and expect Western-world investment demand to pick up again. The fundamental backdrop remains favourable even though volatility is set to stay elevated as long as the Iran war lasts.

Further, he said, the gold market struggles to price this properly as potential tailwinds from the war are offset by headwinds from a stronger US dollar, higher US bond yields and prevailing concerns about less expansionary monetary policy.
