Pause in Gold and Silver Rates Today After a Huge Drop of Rs 32,400/100gms

The latest rates showed no change, with both 24 Karat and 22 Karat gold recording a movement of Rs 0. Gold prices had dropped by Rs 32,400 per 100 grams of 24 Karat gold over the preceding two days.

Silver prices also paused on November 1 at Rs 200 per gram, or Rs 2,00,000 per kilogram, following a steep decline of Rs 20,000 per kg. Gold and silver rates across Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and other major cities remain in focus as households prepare for festive jewellery purchases and investments.

Gold fell below $3,900 an ounce, hitting its lowest level since October 2025, after a rally that extended into January 2026. Rising energy prices and persistent inflation concerns have fuelled expectations of higher-for-longer US interest rates. The US Federal Reserve and European Central Bank held rates steady but warned that inflation risks remain, adding to uncertainty in the bullion market ahead of India's festive buying season.

"Importantly, gold and crude do not have a consistent direct correlation. Geopolitical tensions can initially lift both through safe-haven demand and supply-risk premiums, but sustained higher crude prices can raise inflation expectations, push yields higher and strengthen expectations of tighter Fed policy, eventually weighing on non-yielding gold," said Manav Modi, Commodities Analyst, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd.
