Second Straight Fall In Gold Rate Today: 24K, 22k, 18k Gold Plunges In Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai On May 27
The gold rate today edged lower on Wednesday, May 27, as 24 karat prices slipped marginally by Rs 600 per 10 gram compared to the previous session. The Yellow metal underwent another major drop for the second consecutive time this week making gold a little affordable in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
However, the overall trend is still bullish, with gold delivering strong returns in 2026 on the back of global safe-haven demand, a weakening US Dollar, and strong domestic buying amid the wedding season.

Gold in the global market also traded under pressure near $4,502.25 per ounce due to rising geopolitical tensions and a stronger US dollar, leading to sharp volatility in bullion rates.
As per Nirmal Bang Securities Report, "Bullion slipped as much as 1.9% as the dollar climbed. US and Iranian forces clashed near the Strait of Hormuz overnight, highlighting the tension between the two sides even as they tout progress toward an interim peace deal. Oil continued to whipsaw on Middle East developments, with Brent topping $100 a barrel after slumping more than 7% on Monday. Bullion has slumped more than 14% since the conflict erupted in late February. "
Gold Rate Today In Bangalore
On May 27, the 22-carat gold rate in Bangalore plunged by Rs. 550 per 10 grams, now costing Rs. 1,45,150. Meanwhile, 24-carat gold saw a drop of Rs. 600, bringing its price to Rs. 1,58,290. Similarly, 18-carat gold prices in Bangalore decreased by Rs. 450 and are now priced at Rs. 1,18,720 per 10 grams.
Gold Rate Today In Hyderabad
On May 27, the 22-carat gold rate in Hyderabad dropped sharply by Rs. 550 per 10 grams to Rs. 1,45,150. At the same time, 24-carat gold prices declined by Rs. 600, taking the rate to Rs. 1,58,290 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold in Hyderabad also witnessed a fall of Rs. 450 and is now priced at Rs. 1,18,720 per 10 grams.
Gold Rate Today In Chennai
Gold prices in Chennai also recorded a sharp decline on May 27 across all major purity categories. The 24-carat gold price fell by Rs. 870 per 10 grams to Rs. 1,59,820, while the 22-carat gold rate today dropped by Rs. 800 and is now priced at Rs. 1,46,500 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the 18-carat gold rate in Chennai also slipped by Rs. 700, taking the rate to Rs. 1,22,900 per 10 grams.
Silver Prices in Bangalore + Chennai + Hyderabad
Unlike Gold Prices, white metal rates in Bangalore stayed unchanged for six consecutive days. and it currently stands at Rs. 2,85,000 per Kg. Similarly, the price for 100 grams of silver costs Rs. 28,500.
However, silver rates in both Chennai & Hyderabad declined By Rs. 5000 per Kg today after four consecutive days of no movement. Silver rate in Hyderabad & Chennai today is retailing at Rs. 2,90,000 per kg & Rs. 29,000 per 100 grams.
Gold And Silver Future Price On MCX
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold futures for June 5th delivery are trading lower today by 0.32%, at Rs. 1,57,105 per 10 grams. Similarly, silver futures for the July 3rd expiry fell sharply today, experiencing losses of 1.17%, trading around Rs. 2,67,450 at the time of writing.
Spot Gold And Silver Rates On May 27
According to a recent report by Reuters, "Spot gold was down 0.1% at $4,502.25 per ounce, as of 0412 GMT. U.S. gold futures for June delivery were steady at $4,501.10. Spot silver fell 0.3% to $76.71 per ounce."
