Terror In Gold Rates Today (23-06-2026): Hyderabad Gold Price Falls Rs 21,000; Chennai Gold Rate Down Rs 4,400

Gold rates in India plunged by at least Rs 20,700 on June 23, 2026, tracking broad-based selling pressure. 24-carat gold is below the Rs 1.46 lakh per 10 grams mark in the majority of cities like Hyderabad; however, gold is still expensive in Chennai, nearing Rs 1.48 lakh per 10 grams. On Tuesday, the steepest decline is of Rs 20,700 in Hyderabad gold rates, but in Chennai, the fall is mild by up to Rs 4,400 in 100 grams of 24 carat. Gold prices crashed due to a stronger dollar, which crossed the 101 mark and traded at a 13-month high. The market condition is fragile as investors navigate the progress of the US-Iran peace agreement.

Gold Rates In Chennai:

Here, 24 carat gold slipped by Rs 4,400 to Rs 14,79,300 per 100 grams and was down by Rs 440 in 10 grams to Rs 1,47,930. Furthermore, 22 carat gold price dipped by Rs 4,000 to Rs 13.56 lakh per 100 grams and dropped by Rs 400 to Rs 1,35,600 per 10 grams. Under 18 carat, 10 grams gold is lower by Rs 300 to Rs 1,13,400 and 100 grams gold price slipped by Rs 3,000 to Rs 11.34 lakh.

Additionally, the 8 grams gold price in Chennai slipped by Rs 240 to Rs 352 across carats. The rates were at Rs 1,18,344 in 24 carat, at Rs 1,08,480 in 22 carat and at Rs 90,720 in 18 carat.

Also, 1 gram gold price in Chennai is at Rs 14,793 in 24 carat, at Rs 13,560 in 22 carat and at Rs 11,340 in 18 carat. The prices are down by Rs 30 to Rs 44.

Gold Rates In Hyderabad:

24 carat gold price crashed by Rs 20,700 to Rs 14,59,100 per 100 grams, while 10 grams gold in the same carat slipped by Rs 2,070 to Rs 1,45,910. Also, 8 grams and 1 gram gold price in 24 carat is down by Rs 1,656 and Rs 207 to Rs 1,16,728 and Rs 14,591 respectively.

Moreover, 22 carat gold price collapsed by Rs 19,000 to Rs 13,37,500 per 100 grams and 10 grams gold here dropped by Rs 1,900 to Rs 1,33,750. Also, 8 grams gold dipped by Rs 1,520 to Rs 1,07,000 and 1 gram gold is down by Rs 190 to Rs 13,375.

Under 18 carat, 100 grams gold nosedived by Rs 15,500 to Rs 10,94,400 per 100 grams and plunged by Rs 1,550 to Rs 1,09,440 per 10 grams. Additionally, 8 grams gold tumbled by Rs 1,240 to Rs 87,552 and dived by Rs 155 to Rs 10,944 per 1 gram.

What Is Impacting Precious Metals Today?

As per Gaurav Garg, research analyst at Lemonn markets desk, in today's trading session, gold prices fell to $4,146.60 per ounce (approximately ₹1,26,210 per 10 grams), while silver saw a sharper decline, dropping to $62.79 per ounce (around Rs 1,91,114 per kg), as uncertainty surrounding US-Iran peace talks weighed heavily on market sentiment.

The expert added that this macroeconomic backdrop, coupled with a stronger dollar, contributed to the downward pressure on precious metals. Crude oil prices also slipped, with WTI crude trading at $73.59 per barrel (about ₹6,967), reflecting concerns over potential oversupply amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
