LPG Gas Cylinder e-KYC Deadline Over: Indane, HP Gas, Bharat Gas Users Face App Failures, What Next?

The deadline for LPG cylinder e-KYC has now passed, but many consumers are still struggling to complete the Aadhaar-based biometric authentication due to repeated technical glitches and app failures. Users of Indane, HP Gas and Bharat Gas have reported difficulties while trying to complete e-KYC through the respective apps and Aadhaar FaceRD.

The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) had asked eligible LPG consumers to complete biometric Aadhaar authentication by August 16, 2026, to ensure uninterrupted LPG services. However, the requirement applies only to households that had not completed their e-KYC earlier. The Oil Ministry has also clarified that consumers who have already completed LPG e-KYC do not need to repeat the process.

Here are the simple steps to follow for Indane e-KYC. Most other Oil marketing companies' (OMCs) apps ideally follow the same rule.

Indane e-KYC Not Working? Here's What LPG Consumers Can Do After App Failures

  1. Install AadhaarFaceRD: Download the official AadhaarFaceRD app from the Play Store or App Store. It is required for face authentication during the e-KYC process.

  2. Clear the Indane app cache: If the app keeps crashing, freezing or showing an error, clear its cache and try again. You can also log out and sign back in using your registered mobile number.

  3. Try during off-peak hours: If the app is showing a server error or the face scan is not going through, try again early in the morning or late at night when traffic may be lower.

  4. Check your internet connection: Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if the process gets stuck or fails midway.

  5. Update the apps: Make sure both the Indane app and AadhaarFaceRD are updated to their latest versions.

  6. Check Aadhaar-linked mobile number: Make sure your LPG consumer account and Aadhaar details are correctly linked and that your registered mobile number is active.

  7. Give camera permissions: Ensure the Indane app and AadhaarFaceRD have the required camera and other permissions enabled.

  8. Restart your phone: A simple restart can sometimes resolve app crashes or authentication issues.

  9. Try again later if the server is down: Repeated failures may be due to a temporary server-side issue, so avoid repeatedly submitting the request and try after some time.

  10. Visit your LPG distributor: If online e-KYC continues to fail, visit your Indane distributor and ask them to complete the biometric Aadhaar authentication offline.

  11. Keep your Aadhaar and LPG details handy: Carry your Aadhaar card and LPG consumer number/details when visiting the distributor to help complete the verification process.

If Indane e-KYC Still Fails, Try These Options

  1. Visit your Indane gas distributor: Carry your Aadhaar card and registered mobile phone and ask the distributor to complete your e-KYC through the available biometric authentication facility.

  2. Ask your LPG delivery person: During your next cylinder delivery, check with the Indane delivery person. In some cases, delivery personnel may have mobile biometric devices that can be used for authentication.

  3. Call Indane customer care: For technical issues or help with e-KYC, contact the Indane toll-free helpline at 1800-2333-555.

  4. Keep your LPG details ready: Have your consumer number, registered mobile number and Aadhaar details available when contacting the distributor or customer care.

For LPG consumers who are still unable to complete e-KYC, the deadline passing does not necessarily mean they are out of options. Repeated app crashes, failed face scans, server errors and Aadhaar authentication issues have made what should be a simple verification process frustrating for many users. Consumers using Indane, HP Gas or Bharat Gas can first try troubleshooting the respective app and Aadhaar FaceRD, including checking permissions, updating the apps, switching networks and attempting the process at a different time.

If the digital route continues to fail, consumers can approach their LPG distributor or check with the delivery person about completing biometric authentication through an available device. It is also important to remember that consumers who have already completed LPG e-KYC do not need to repeat the process. For those still pending, keeping Aadhaar and LPG account details ready and seeking help through official customer support may be the quickest way to resolve authentication problems.
