What Is The CHAMPIONS Technology Platform For MSMEs?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced the launch of the "CHAMPIONS" technology platform for MSMEs. This could not have come at a better time, when some of the small businesses are suffering due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

What is the CHAMPIONS Platform for MSMEs?

CHAMPIONS is nothing but, the Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength (CHAMPIONS).

From time to time, the medium and small enterprises, face various challenges. These challenges could involve technical challenges, compliance challenges or various marketing challenges.

The present CHAMPIONS platform helps in addressing grievances, encouraging, supporting, helping and handholding, the nation's small and medium enterprises.

What does the CHAMPIONS Technology Platform Do?

The objectives of the platform can be categorized in a number of ways:

Grievance Redressal

The platform helps to resolve the grievances of MSMEs that could encompass different areas including those related to finance, raw materials, labour, regulatory permissions etc., more so on account of the turmoil created by the Covid 19 pandemic.

Exploring opportunities

While some MSMEs may have the right technical advantages, they might lack in areas of effective marketing and communications. The CHAMPIONS platform helps in areas that include manufacturing of medical equipments and accessories like PPEs, masks, etc and supply them in National and International markets;

To identify and encourage MSMEs

It would also help to harness the potential of MSMEs who are able to withstand the current situation and can become national and international champions.

Edge of technology

There is a technology packed control room-cum-management information system at the disposal. In addition to ICT tools including telephone, internet and video conference, the system is enabled by Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Machine Learning.

It is also fully integrated on real time basis with GOI's main grievances portal CPGRAMS and MSME Ministry's own other web based mechanisms.

The entire ICT architecture is created in house with the help of NIC in no cost. Similarly, the physical infrastructure is created in one of ministry's dumping rooms in a record time.
