1:1 Bonus, 1:5 Split, 39 Dividends All-Time: Hindustan Zinc Share At New High; Buy This Vedanta Stock?

Stock market is resuming its trading on BSE and NSE on January 16, after a 1-day holiday. Metal stocks like Hindustan Zinc will be in focus as the company has declared its Q3 results date for FY26. In the previous session, HZL shares touched a new all-time high as strong rally in silver rates continued. In Q3FY26, growth and margins of Hindustan Zinc is expected to be driven by higher commodity prices especially of silver. That being said, should you buy HZL shares ahead of Q3?

Hindustan Zinc Share Price:

After market hours of January 14, HZL share price ended at Rs 654.40 apiece, up by nearly 4% on BSE with market cap of Rs 2,76,504.88 crore. During this trading session, HZL shares touched a new 52-week high of Rs 670 apiece.

It will be keenly watched if HZL shares touch Rs 700 mark ahead of Q3.

Hindustan Zinc Q3 Results Date:

The company said its board of directors meeting is scheduled on Monday, January 19, 2026, inter‐alia to consider and approve the unaudited Consolidated and Standalone Financial Results of the Company for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2025.

It needs to be noted that HZL is among the top dividend paying metal stocks. Hence, it will be keenly watched if the metal giant declares any dividend rewards for investors.

HZL has a history of steady dividend payouts, while the company has delivered one bonus and split.

Dividends: Since August 2003, the company paid about 39 dividends, as per Trendlyne data. In the last 12 months, the company distributed up to Rs 10 dividend per share. It has a dividend yield of 1.57%.

Bonus Issue: The metal company has delivered only one bonus issue. In March 2011, HZL has paid 1:1 bonus shares. This meant 1 free share against 1 existing share.

Stock Split: Meanwhile, HZL has split only once. In March 2011, the company subdivided its shares in the ratio of 1:5, where the face value has split from Rs 10 each to Rs 2 each.

BUY Hindustan Zinc Share Price?

According to analysts at Systematix Institutional Equities, Hindustan Zinc and its parent company, Vedanta are likely to see igher profitability growth and margin expansion, while impact of fire at Novelis NY plant would spill over in 3QFY26.

Also, the analysts pointed out that Hindustan Zinc's growth and margin expansion to be driven by higher
commodity prices, especially silver.

Key things to watch out in Q3 are --- nature of contracts for silver sales
and outlook, expansion timelines, and volume guidance.

Hence, these analysts have suggested BUY with a target price of Rs 577, which is lower from its current price.
