Ahead ex-date, Brigade stock stood at Rs 719.95 apiece on BSE, with market cap of Rs 17,611.55 crore. Yesterday, the stock gained by over 5%.
Bonus shares are one of the many corporate actions that listed companies announce on several occasions. Bonus shares are like incentives, which are free of cost given to investors. Under this corporate action, new shares are issued at the existing Face Value of equity shares of the company. Hence, the face value remains the same post-bonus issue.

The company will buyback shares worth Rs 720 crore from eligible shareholders at an buyback price of Rs 1,125 per share, which is at nearly 24% premium from June 16th closing price of Rs 907.30 apiece.
In simple words, buyback means a listed company can buy back shares from their respective shareholders including the public shareholders.
