A solar park project with a capacity of 2,000 MW will be established in Rajasthan, receiving 30% financial support from the central government. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced this initiative at the Rising Rajasthan: Transition towards a Sustainable Energy Economy Summit in Jaipur. The central government aims to collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the renewable energy sector, according to an official statement.

2000 MW Solar Park Planned for Rajasthan

Rajasthan is making significant strides in renewable energy, with an installed capacity of 30.31 GW. Solar power alone contributes 24.55 GW, positioning the state as a national leader in this field. Union Minister Joshi highlighted these achievements while discussing Rajasthan's potential to become a renewable energy powerhouse.

Rajasthan's Renewable Energy Ambitions

The Ministry for New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) confirmed the approval of the solar park project by Rajasthan Solar Development Corporation. This project aligns with Rajasthan's ambitious goals and forward-thinking policies aimed at boosting renewable energy production. The state is on track to significantly contribute to India's renewable energy targets.

Rajasthan recently launched its Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, targeting 125 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. This policy is expected to play a crucial role in achieving India's national goal of 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Key Initiatives and Future Prospects

Minister Joshi urged Rajasthan to accelerate key initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana to maximize their impact. He also emphasized the importance of quickly implementing the state's Green Hydrogen Policy to establish Rajasthan as a leader in green technologies.

With bold targets and recent investments, Rajasthan is poised for significant growth in the renewable energy sector. The state's commitment to sustainable energy solutions reflects its dedication to becoming a major player in India's renewable energy landscape.

The collaboration between the central government and Rajasthan aims to drive progress in renewable energy development. By focusing on innovative policies and strategic investments, both parties are working towards a sustainable future for the region and the country.
