Maruti appoints 100 new workers at Manesar
Maruti Suzuki has appointed 100 new regular workers at its Manesar unit to cover the production loss occurred during the last month due to employees strike. While the stand-off between the management and protesting workers still continues.

Labour unrest at Maruti Suzuki is the matter of concern for many Automobile companies in the industry as the situation may influence their units as well, so to prevent the trouble to spread, few industry leaders met the workers to resolve the matter.

The meeting was attended by Bony Polymers Managing Director Raj Bhatia, JBM Chairman S K Arya, N K Minda, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Senior Vice President (HR) Harbhajan Singh and Rico Auto Head (HR) Surinder Singh along with MSIL Chairman R C Bhargava, as reported by business standard.

In the meantime, MSIL rolled out 620 units of the Swift from its two manufacturing units — Manesar and Gurgaon — in Haryana. In first two days of the week, the company has issued appointment letters to 100 people.

With this, the number of workers went up to 1,110, including regular and contract workers with 90 engineers and 290 supervisors.

The company said, that it will continue to recruit more workers in the coming days to match up the falling production.

On Tuesday, company debarred five workers, on charge of attacking their supervisors on September 16.

Company expects the production to go up in next few days with the fresh appointment of the workers.
