Sensex loses 85 points in opening trade
The leaders of Germany and France, Europe's two biggest nations told Greece on Wednesday that they would not grant another aid which is due this month until they are assured about the Athens' commitment towards austerity programme.
The traders dumped stocks in initial part of the trade following the weak sentiments of Asian traders.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), IT, TECk and Metal were seen down by 1%, 0.63% and 0.50%, respectively. While, Realty, Power and PSU gained by 0.68%, 0.60% and 0.39%, respectively.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top losers were Hero MotoCorp, SAIL, Hindustan Unilever and HDFC Bank which were seen down by 1.97%, 1.95%, 1.86% and 1.54%, respectively.
While the top gainers on the NSE were RCOM, BHEL, Tata Power, Reliance Infra, all gained by 2.38%, 2.34%, 1.32% and 1.29%, respectively.
