India's food inflation comes down to 11.81%

India's food inflation as measured on the basis of Wholesale Price Index (WPI) came down marginally to 11.81% for the week ended October 29.

The food inflation for the previous week was high at around 12.21%. The recent dip is due to moderation in the prices of Vegetables.

The primary articles which contributes 20.12% of the index fell to 11.43% during the week against 12.08% recorded previous week.

For the week ended October 29, the cereals, rice and pulses became dearer by 4.07%, 4.27% and 13.27%, respectively.

The prices of vegetables was up by 26.05%, moderated a bit as compared to last week.

The prices of fruits, milk and egg, meat & fish became costlier by 11.70%, 11.79% and 12.74%, respectively.

The fuel & power inflation stood stable at 14.50% for the week.

The non-food articles inflation stood at 6.41% during the week.
