Market pares initial gains, closed in green
While the 50-share Nifty closed up by 0.71% or 34 points at 4,812.35.
On the sectoral front on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the sectors posted significant gains were IT, Metal, Auto, TECk and HealthCare, added, 1.95%, 1.54%, 1.08%, 1.06% and 0.98%, respectively.
While, the sectors underperformed were Consumer Durables (3.16%), FMCG (1.36%) and Power (0.27%).
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top gainers were Tata Motors, JP Associate, BPCL, Tata Steel and CAIRN, all gained by 7.40%, 4.77%, 3.70%, 3.50% and 3.28%, respectively.
While, the top losers were Siemens (2.80%), Bharti Airtel (2.39%), Kotak Bank (2.09%), Tata Power (2.08%) and ITC (1.91%).
On the global front, European markets were seen trading under the green zone, with, FTSE 100 was up by 0.40% and CAC 40 was up by 0.51%.
