Sensex, Nifty ends in red, BPCL, JP Asso, HDFC Bank major losers
Continuing with the falling streak, the Indian markets ended in the negative territory. The benchmark Sensex closed 2.27% or 365.45 points down at 15,699.97, while the NSE Nifty ended low by 2.20% or 105.90 points at 4,706.45.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange, all sectors ended under the red zone except Consumer Durables, the sectors fell sharply were Consumer Goods (3.04%), Teck (2.65%), IT (2.48%), Oil & Gas (2.41%) and Bankex (2.40%).
And, on the National Stock Exchange, the companies which gained were NTPC, RCOM, Bajaj Auto and Hindustan Unilever, ended up by 1%, 0.71%, 0.43% and 0.03%, respectively.
The top losers on the NSE were BPCL (5.34%), JP Associates (5.13%), HDFC Bank (4.52%), IDFC (4.36%) and Ranbaxy (4.21%).
