Bharti Airtel informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that its largest promoter Bharti Telecom has bought its shares worth Rs 20.50 crore through open market operations.
The promoter had 45.60% stake in its Telecom subsidiary prior to acquisition. With this, its overall stake in Bharti Airtel went up to 45.62%.
Bharti Telecom acquired 5,90,240 shares of the Bharti Airtel totalling Rs 20.50 crore, the company said in a disclosure to the BSE.
At 1:33 pm IST, Bharti Airtel's scrip was trading at 351.10, up by 1.36% or 4.70 points on the BSE.
