Sensex ends 100 points higher
The Indian benchmark indices gained more than 100 points on Friday amid fresh buying by funds followed by firm trend in Asian market.

At 3.30 pm IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was at 16153.07 up by 115.56 points or 0.72% and NSE Nifty was trading at 4866.00 up by 34.75 points or 0.72%.

 

In Asia, markets were trading in mixed terrain, the Nikkei 225 was up by 114.43 points and was at 8500.35. The Hang Seng was up by 109.40 points and was at 19,204.46.

 

Among market indicators on BSE Metal were trading at 10,752 up by 330.18 points or 3.17% and CG were trading at 9,296 up by 257.63 or 2.85%.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were Reliance Power Tata Power, Tata Motors, Coal India,and NTPC posted gains between 3.51%-7.22%.

And the top losers in the trade were Bajaj Auto, Gail, Maruti and Sun pharma were among top losers.
