Sensex gains; CG, Power up
European Central Bank's decision to keep the rates untouched further boosted the market sentiment.
At 10.25 am IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was at 16110.13 up by 72.62 points or 0.45% and NSE Nifty was trading at 4857.60 up by 26.35 points or 0.55%.
In Asia, markets were trading in mixed terrain, the Nikkei 225 was up by 98.36 points and was at 8480.35. The Hang Seng was down by 5.92 points and was at 19,089.46. The Shanghai composite was down by 40.20 points and was at 2,234.81.
Among Sectoral indices, all the sectors were trading in positive terrain except IT which was down by 0.49%.
Among market indicators on BSE Capital Goods were trading at 9,212 up by 173.41 points or 1.92% and Power were trading at 1991.86 up by 37.63 or 1.93%.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were Tata Power, Tata Motors, Coal India, Reliance Power and JP Associates posted gains between 2.47%-3.02%.
And the top losers in the opening trade were Bajaj Auto, Hindalco, Hero MotoCop, Infy and HDFC Bank were among top losers.
