Rupee 3 month high at 49.05 per dollar

Dollar falling
The partially convertible Indian rupee rose by 22 paise to Rs 49.05 per dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange. This is the highest level in three months.

The Indian rupee gained confidence after euro and other currencies posted gains against US dollar. The rupee sentiment was boosted by weaker dollar and positive opening in domestic stock market.

The Indian rupee opened at 49.04 per dollar versus 49.27 yesterday. At 01.10 pm IST, rupee was seen trading at 49.34.

Meanwhile, the BSE was seen trading at 17467.32 up by 166.74 points or 0.96% and the 50-share NSE was at 5276.55 up by 40.85 points or 0.78%.
