Markets were trading choppy during the day, sudden spike in Realty, Health Care, FMCG helped market to recover. Nifty also surged later during the day and crossed 5300 level and was seen trading above.

At 3.30 pm IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was at 17604.96 up by 173.11 points or 0.99% and NSE Nifty was at 5325.85 up by 55.95 points or 1.06%.

Among sectoral indices on BSE, all the sectors were trading positively except Metal which was trading down by 1.22%.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were IDFC, Grasim, Hindustan Lever, JP Associates and Sun Pharma posted gains between 2.59%-5.48%

And the loser in today trade were Hindalco, Reliance Communication, Jindal Steel, Tata Steel, HCL Tech.
