Sensex, Nifty in volatile mood; telecom stocks eyed
On Thursday, Supreme court canceled all 2G licenses issued in 2008. However, affected telecom companies can continue operations for 4 months. Telecom sector felt the heat and will be highlight of todays trade.
At 10.10 am IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 17444.89 up by 13.04 points or 0.07% and NSE Nifty was trading at 5273.55 up by 3.65 points or 0.07%.
In Asia, most of the markets were trading in negative terrain, the Nikkei 225 down by 13.21 points and was at 8863.29. The Hang Seng was down by 20.22 points and was at 20,719.90 Shanghai was down by 1.69 points and was trading at 2,310.87.
Among sectoral indices on BSE, sectors were trading in mixed terrain. Health Care, Power, Consumer Durables, FMCG were leading the rally.
Metal, Realty, Bankex, Oil& Gas and Consumer Goods were trading in negative terrain.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were Bharti Airtel, Ranbaxy, Power Grid, IDFC, Siemens posted gains between 1.92%-2.57% in morning trade.
And the loser in morning trade were Reliance Communication, Hindalco, Tata steel, Ster, Jindal Steel
