Sensex gains 150 points in morning trade

The Indian benchmark indices continued its winning streak and opened higher on Monday tracking strong global cues.

Asian stocks also rose amid rocking numbers of the US employment data, showing the signs of healthy global economy.

At 09.50 am IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 117750.09 up by 145.13 points or 0.82% and NSE Nifty was trading at 5367.70 up by 41.85 points or 0.79%.

In Asia, most of the markets were trading in positive terrain, the Nikkei 225 up by 112.87 points and was at 8944.69. The Hang Seng was up by 109.96 points and was at 20,866.90. Shanghai was up by 9.14 points and was trading at 2,339.54.

Among sectoral indices on BSE, all sectors were trading in positive terrain. Realty, Metal, Bankex, Consumer Goods leading the rally in morning trade.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were JP Associates, DLF, Ambuja Cement, Hindalco, State Bank of India posted gains between 2.30%-3.12%.

And the loser in morning trade were Gail, Tata Power, IDFC, ONGC, Bharti Airtel.
