Sensex, Nifty gains; ACC, Ambuja Cement up

The Indian benchmark indices wiped out some earlier gains due to negative cues from Europe as Greece is nearing deadline for a funding deal.

However, market recovered before closing for the day and was up by 70 points at 17676.67 up by 71.71 points or 0.41% and NSE Nifty was at 5356.00 up by 30.15 points or 0.57% at 3.30 pm IST.

Shares of cement companies soared by good dispatches data in January 2012. ACC Limited and Ambuja Cement were top gainers in Nifty.

Among sectoral indices on BSE, all the sectors were trading positively except FMCG and Health Care which were trading marginally lower.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were ACC, Ambuja Cement, Jindal Steel, Siemens, Cairn posted gains between 3.85%-5.90%

And the loser in today trade were Tata Power, Hindustan Lever, SunPharma, Dr Reddy, Reliance Infra.
