Rupee gains 11 paise against dollar

The rupee remained steady in early trade today and was quoted at 49.25 against the US dollar, gaining 11 paise from Tuesday's close.

At 11.00 am IST rupee was seen trading at 49.23 down by 13 paise.

The rupee is expected to continue to show appreciation on the back of strong dollar inflows from foreign institutional investors (FIIs).

Since December 2020, FIIs have invested close to Rs 20,000 crore in Indian markets.

Meanwhile, the BSE was seen trading at 18136.45 up by 287.88 points or 1.61% and the 50-share NSE was at 5502.40 up by 84.45 points or 1.56%.
