Markets end in green; BHEL surges
Positive Asian cues and a firm overnight closing in the US boosted sentiments. European bourses too opened on a firm note, on increasing hopes of a solution to the Greek crisis.
Among the star performers today was BHEL, which surged 6.88%, closing at Rs 303.55 on the NSE. Reports that the company is likely to get orders from NTPC boosted sentiments.
Other Sensex gainers included Tata Power, Sterlite, Mahindra and Mahindra and SBI. Among the top prominent losers were Hero Motorcorp, Maruti Suzuki, Hindalco, Gail, Cipla and Tata Steel.
It's likely that the liquidity inflows will fuel a further rally, though a significant upside from the current levels maybe capped. The indices have already gained more than 20% since December and analysts are of the opinion that valuations maybe a little stretched following a 45-day rally.
