The partially convertible Indian rupee gained 15 paise on Tuesday against dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange due to fresh demand for dollar from importers.
Euro strengthening against dollar as Eurozone's finance ministers finally agreed on a second bailout for Greece.
Rupee generally follow the footsteps of Euro, if euro is rising against the dollar, same trend can be visible in the Indian currency as well. The Indian rupee gained confidence after euro and other currencies posted gains against US dollar.
The Indian rupee opened at 49.08 per dollar versus 49.27 on Friday. At 11.10 am IST rupee was seen trading at 49.12 down by15 paise.
Meanwhile, the BSE was seen trading lower at 18368.50 up by 79.15 or 0.43% and the 50-share NSE was at 5589.00 up by 24.70 points or 0.44%.
