Markets end lower: Bharti, Sterlite drag

Among the major losers today were Sterlite and Bharti Airtel. Shares of Sterlite Industries tanked almost 4% as reports of merger with group company Sesa Goa did not go down well with investors.
Bharti Airtel too saw losses after reports that Econet was seeking $300 billion in damages from the company. The shares that saw gains in today's trade included Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Unilever, Powergrid and BHEL.
Markets are expected to see some more profit taking after a sharp rally witnessed in the last several weeks. Kingfisher Airlines bucked the trend and ended with marginal gains of Rs 0.20.
