Markets open steady: Sterlite gains
Markets opened the week on a steady note, with a slight negative bias. The BSE Sensex was trading lower by 68 points at 18,855 points, while the Nifty was trading down by 23 points at 5406 points, at 9.20 am IST.

Among the top gainers today were Sterlite Industries, Cairn and BPCL. Most of the Asian indices were trading up, including Nikkei and Hang Sang.
